The ocean is the Judge Judy of nature.
History is also helping me with my worrying. Here are things I have been worried about lately:
The Ocean
The extra from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
The AI overhype/underhype doom that is making it seem like a robot will kill you tomorrow by flipping over your desk as it takes your job
Where all the trash goes?
The world being evil
Here is how I am calming those thoughts down by thinking of history.
The Ocean
She’s been around longer than us, she will decide what happens to us, not the other way around. She is the Judge Judy of earth. Humans are causing the Earth to heat up due to C02 emissions, and the water? She’s fuming. Mother Ocean echos the wise words of Mother Judy, “Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining”, Yes, I’m worried about what humanity is doing to the ocean, but she’s in charge in the end.
The extra from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
He is scary and creepy and somehow the President, again, but this time he has swelling cankles and his fans are mad at him.
He thought “Oh let me distract from the Epstein files by doing what always distracts people from p***philia, bully 4x Nip Tuck guest-star Rosie O’Donnell!” but that didn’t work, so Covfefe said “show them my varicose veins”, that didn’t work either! Watching him stressed is funny. The AI overhype/underhype doom that is making it seem like a robot will kill you tomorrow by flipping over your desk as it takes your job
Humanity has survived 3 industrial revolutions already. People thought the world was ending as Y2K approached, and it didn’t. People were probably worried in 1698 when steam power became popular, why are we using all this water? People were probably worried the world was ending when it hailed for the first time. Ice falling from the sky? That’s not meatballs! But humans were fine, glass probably wasn’t but Reese Witherspoon has always been around and likely made more.Where all the trash goes
There has also always been trash, are there environmental things I wish were different? Yes, but have bananas always had peels and are they somewhere? Maybe. I think I’m always going to be worried about this one. But infuencers are using them on their skin in morning routines, reduce reuse recycle!
Yes, there are a lot of problems today that need to be fixed, but in the interests of mental health, history, for me, can make things feel less herculean and uncontrollable. Also, Miss Rachel. Having her right now is a gift we don’t deserve. I know history will be kind to this angel.
